Design Execution:
LSSSC acquired an InDesign magazine template and first tasked me with modifying it to fit their branding and improve the overall layout. Once a final layout was decided, the senior leadership and contributing authors began writing their stories and providing images. I scheduled regular meetings to provide edits and content updates with each new draft of the magazine. Once a final print file was approved, I served as liaison to the local printer to fulfill the order and double-check for errors.
Outcome and Analysis:
After the first two issues, LSSSC saw a growth in donations and contributing members. New donors enjoy seeing a calendar of new LSSSC events and employee profiles to read about how their money is being used company-wide. We published 4 issues total in 2023.
Conclusion:
Organizational newsletter magazines continue to serve a greater purpose in giving all public residents a new way of consuming information. Due to the market of donors for LSSSC, we felt a printed magazine would better serve the older demographic and encourage more donations if they were provided with accurate information and resources. The Engage Magazine for LSSSC brought in new funding to generate programs and further assist families with the greatest of needs.
